Our friend Randy Salazar Jr., who, when not performing with
Grupo Chambelán or working his day job as keyboardist/live FX for electro-rockers Plastilina Mosh, spends his time researching Mexican popular culture and cosmic vision, has just released a killer compilation of cumbia rebajada, an honest tribute to the sort of sounds you would be able to pick up on shoddy CD-Rs beneath Monterrey's Puente del Papa or the street stalls between Av. Carranza and Av. Cuauhtémoc.
